BOTS RACE 2025 - Terms and Conditions of Participation
Welcome to BOTS RACE 2025, a challenging event designed for those who like bikepacking races and adventure. Participation in the Race is subject to your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. By entering the Race, participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Eligibility
Age and Fitness: Participants must be at least 18 years of age on the day of the Race. You are required to provide a medical certificate certifying your fitness to participate in such a demanding physical activity.
Insurance: Participants must have their own personal accident and health insurance that covers them for all eventualities in relation to the Race. Proof of such insurance must be provided to the organisers by email.
Registration and Fees
Entry Fee: A non-refundable entry fee is required to secure participation.
Deposit for GPS Tracker: A refundable deposit of £100 (€117) is required for the GPS tracker provided to you for the Race. This deposit will be refunded within 30 days after the tracker is returned whole and in good working condition.
Refund Policy
Cancellation by Participant: If you cancel your participation:
More than 60 days before the Race, you will receive a full refund of the entry fee minus an administration charge of £20 (€25).
30 to 59 days before the Race, you will receive a 50% refund of the entry fee.
Less than 30 days before the Race, no refund will be provided.
Cancellation by Organisers: If the Race is cancelled due to circumstances beyond the Organisers' control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics or governmental restrictions, Participants will have the option to transfer their registration to a future event or receive a refund of their entry fee. The GPS tracker deposit will be fully refunded.
General Terms
Self-Sufficiency: Riders must carry all their gear, food and water. No support vehicles, gear drops, or pre-arranged support of any kind is allowed. The only exceptions are services that are commercially available to all participants and the general public.
Compliance with Laws and Regulations: Participants must comply with all laws and regulations governing a push bike in the country they are riding in, as well as the Race rules and instructions from the Organisers outlined in the Race Manual and during the Race briefing.
Safety and Conduct: Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that ensures their safety and that of others. The Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any Participant found to be acting dangerously or un-sportingly.
Data Protection: Personal information collected during registration will be processed in accordance with UK and EU data protection laws. Details will be used solely for the purpose of organising the Race and will not be shared with third parties without consent.
Changes to Terms: The Organisers reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Participants will be notified of any significant changes.
Acknowledgment of Risk
Participation in the Race involves inherent risks and dangers. By agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge that you are aware of these risks and accept them voluntarily. You agree to release the Organisers from any claims, damages or liabilities arising from your participation in the BOTS Race.
